Veneers are custom-made laminates created from porcelain or other realistic-looking materials. Veneers are adhered to the front surfaces of your teeth to address numerous aesthetic issues. Here’s a closer look at the possibilities you can achieve with dental veneers.
Dental veneers are a staple in smile makeovers since they are one of the most transformative cosmetic treatments. They combine the benefits of teeth whitening and orthodontics to achieve a beautiful smile that radiates confidence everywhere you go.Â
Have you heard or read that veneers damage your teeth? Here’s the truth: Veneers are designed to enhance your smile, not ruin it. Yes, placing veneers requires removing a thin layer of enamel, typically 0.3-0.5 mm. This step is necessary to ensure the veneer fits seamlessly and doesn’t look bulky or unnatural. However, it’s essential to understand that this enamel reduction is minimal and superficial. It doesn’t compromise the health or integrity of your teeth when done by a skilled dentist.
Far from weakening your teeth, veneers make them stronger. How? Veneers cover up and reinforce minor cracks or chips, preventing further damage. Veneers also protect worn-down (eroded) enamel to strengthen your teeth. Veneers don’t ruin your smile—they reveal its full potential. When expertly done, veneers enhance how your teeth look and improve their strength and protection.
So, you want to upgrade your smile with veneers but are unsure if it’s a wise investment. If you have not fully decided on dental veneers, consider these benefits.Â
