Below, we answer a few of the most frequently asked questions about our porcelain veneers to help you feel informed and confident about pursuing this treatment option for yourself or a loved one:
Porcelain veneers are described by Dr. Andy Stein as thin, customized shells fabricated from high-quality porcelain. They are made to cover the front of the teeth, enhancing their appearance while preserving a natural look. Porcelain veneers are a great way to address chipped, discolored, or uneven teeth.
Ideal candidates for quality porcelain veneers are our patients with healthy teeth and gum tissues who wish to correct cosmetic dental imperfections. If you have concerns such as gaps, minor misalignments, or discoloration that is resistant to teeth whitening, you may be a great candidate. Dr. Andy Stein is a porcelain veneers dentist who evaluates your smile and guides you through the best options for your unique needs.
Getting porcelain veneers usually requires 2-3 visits to your dentist for porcelain veneers. During the first visit, Dr. Andy Stein examines your teeth, discusses your personal goals, and creates for you a custom treatment plan. The veneers are created in a lab and applied during subsequent appointments.
Porcelain veneers usually last for 10-15 years or more with proper care. Maintaining good oral hygiene, avoiding chewing hard objects (such as ice cubes), and attending regular dental check-ups often extends their lifespan.
Yes! Porcelain veneers are actually considered a permanent aesthetic dental treatment. To apply the veneers, your dentist removes a small amount of enamel from the surface of your teeth, which cannot be restored. However, the result is a durable and long-lasting improvement to your smile.
Absolutely! One of the top benefits of porcelain veneers is their ability to mimic the natural texture and translucence of teeth. Dr. Andy Stein customizes each set of veneers so they match the color, size, and shape that best complements your smile, resulting in a seamless and natural appearance.
Caring for your porcelain veneers is simple. Brush and floss your teeth each day, and visit your dental team regularly for cleanings and check-ups. Be mindful to avoid biting into very hard foods or grinding your teeth to preserve your veneers. Dr. Andy Stein provides additional care tips to keep your new smile in top shape.
