If your snoring keeps the whole house awake, it’s more than just an annoyance for you and everyone within earshot. At Stein Family Dentistry, Dr. Andy Stein knows that persistent snoring is a sign of a bigger issue. A custom-fitted dental snoring appliance could be the simple solution you need to help everyone get a good night’s sleep, while also protecting your long-term health.
People living with obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) endure their airway becoming blocked when they’re sleeping. Some folks may stop breathing hundreds of times every night. This leads to:
And it doesn’t matter how long you were in bed. You’ll still be miserable the next day. If OSA isn’t treated, it can have a huge impact on your health. Think of high blood pressure and heart disease. It’s so much more than just snoring.
We use tools like digital scanners to get a perfect map of your mouth. This means your oral appliance is made just for you, a perfect fit. No one-size-fits-all approach with Dr. Stein. As it’s customized, your oral appliance is comfortable enough to wear all night long with no issues.
If you do any travelling, you know what a pain it is to pack bulky equipment like a CPAP machine. With all its tubes and masks, it’s almost not worth the trouble to even go on vacation. And it’s a real hassle to lug through an airport. But a sleep appliance for snoring is a traveler’s dream. It’s small and fits into a compact case. Bonus? It doesn’t need electricity.
Whenever you try something new, it usually takes time to get used to it. When you begin using your oral appliance, it feels similar. You might notice extra saliva at first, for example. Dr. Stein will tell you what to expect. Just be patient and stick with it. A good night’s sleep is worth it.
Using a custom appliance to get your sleep apnea under control can make a big impact on your quality of life.
A sleep appliance does a lot more than just quieten your snoring. It’s a major step toward protecting your overall health. Keeping your airway open helps lower your risk of serious conditions like heart disease and stroke. Dealing with your sleep apnea is a proactive move for your long-term well-being. Not just a fix for a noisy habit.
